DAY 01: GUWAHATI

Altitude: Guwahati: 55 meters

[02 hrs on road] Arrive Guwahati airport and transfer to hotel. Later visit Nabagraha Temple and Srimanta Sankardev Kalekshetra. Overnight in Guwahati.

Nabagraha Temple built by the Ahom King Rajeshwar Singha in the 18th century is located on the top of Navagraha Hill, in Guwahati city. Enshrind in the temple are nine Shivalingams, representing the nine (Vava) Clestial (Graha) bodies, with a Shivalingam in the centre symbolizing th Sun. These celestial bodis ase Surya (Sun), Chandra (Moon), Chvvaai/ Mangal (Mars), Buddha (Mercury), Guru/ Brihaspati (Jupiter), Shukra (Venus), Shani (Saturn), Rahu (North Lunar Node) and Ketu (south Lunar Node).

Sankardev Kalakhetra - located in a beautifully landscaped setting and inaugurated in 1998, is a multi-Arts complex showcasing the rich culture of the state. Named after the most honoured Vaishnava saint and the greatest integrator of Assamese society Srimanta Sankardeva, the Kalakshetra houses a Central Museum where objects and day-to-day articles used by different ethnic groups are exhibited. It preserves the cultural identity of various communities and tribes of Assam by promoting dance, drama, music and art. There is also an Artists’ Village that creates the atmosphere of a typical Assamese community, the Lalit-Kala Bhavan art gallery where exhibitions, art and sculpture workshops are also held, a Heritage Park, an open-air theatre with the capacity to hold 2,000 people, a traditional Vaishnavite temple and the Sahitya Bhavan library of rare books and manuscripts.

DAY 02: GUWAHATI – CHANDUBI – CAMPING

[05 Hrs on road] Today after breakfast we will ride to Chandubi ( 75 kms / 02 ½ hrs ), enroute we will explore the Sualkuchi village- the silk weaving village of Assam, Hajo and Pao Macca, later after lunch we proceed to Chandubi , reach Chandubi and do camping, dinner and overnight stay.

CHANDUBI LAKE: A large Lake and wet land, created by the devastating earthquake of 1897. The Lake is located at the foot of Garo hills surrounded by Assam and Meghalaya. The place is calm and peaceful covered by deep forest, tea garden and small and distinct villages. It is natural sightseeing. This lake attracts sizable amount of migratory birds during winter. The beauty of the lake and its surroundings lays a charm to people visiting it.

DAY 03: CHANDUBI – SHILLONG

Altitude: Shillong: 1491 meters

[06 Hrs on road] Today after breakfast we will explore the area and then later we ride to Shillong (200 kms / 06 hrs ride approx), reach Shillong check into hotel and evening at own. Dinner and overnight stay at Shillong.

DAY 04: SHILLONG – LANGKAWET

Altitude: Shillong: 1320 meters

[05 Hrs on road] Today after breakfast we ride to Mawlynnong (95 kms / 02 ½ hrs ride approx) – the cleanest village and enjoy the various sites in and around Mawlynnong such as the living roots bridge*, Byrdew waterfalls. After lunch at Mawlynnong, we ride further to Langkawet village, then we spend some time with the local villages and overnight stay at Langkkawet camp.

DAY 05: LANGKAWET – CHERRAPUNJEE - LANGKAWET

[06 hrs on road] Today after breakfast we will ride to Cherrapunjee reach Cherrapunjee and explore the area, visit Mawsmai Cave, Thankarang Park, Nohkalikai falls, Dainthlen falls, later after breakfast ride back to camp site. Dinner and overnight stay at camp site.

DAY 06: LANKAWAT – GUWAHATI

[4 hrs on road] Today after breakfast ride to Guwahati airport for onward destination. (175 kms). Dinner and overnight stay at Guwahati.

DAY 07: GUWAHATI – FLY

Today after breakfast ride to Guwahati airport for onward destination.
